There was a short lived dub of the first season of Dragon Ball by Harmony Gold (the same shit company that turned Macross into Robotech). Later I wanted to see more and also play Dragon Quest V (not released in the US), so I started learning Japanese. Toriyama literally changed my life since I now live and work in Japan and never would have learned Japanese without Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest.
