Mia is maybe my fav character in AA (is this a hot take?), so it's sad to see her equivalent here be dispatched so quickly once again. Though Kazuma functioned as a best friend as well, so there's a lot of potential there cut short. But maybe it'll work out for the best, leave them wanting more, and all that!

I've done the first investigation section of Case 2. The tone shifts pretty quickly to a lighthearted adventure, as if our best friend didn't die merely hours ago. It's jarring, but Herlock Sholmes takes over the stage so readily that it's hard to be annoyed. I cannot get a handle on this guy, is he a genius or a moron? Well, sort of both?? The way Susato puts it, he has a keen eye for cutting to the heart of the matter, but his logic is flawed and he doesn't really stop and think things through. I've never been a Sherlock Holmes guy, maybe I've only seen bad portrayals (I did not care for the BBC series) but I'm not typically a fan of sarcastic asshole genius characters who know everything at all times and everybody loves them anyway.

This is very different to what I'd expected, Herlock has an ego but everyone around him becomes very aware of this very quickly, and he's certainly very flawed. Most importantly, I'm enjoying his presence a great deal. I had a smile on my face throughout the whole dance with Ryunosuke, and there's something irresistibly charming about his demeanour. I don't know if I fully 'get' what they're doing here, but I'm enjoying the ride. Ryunosuke is enjoying the ride too, he gets quickly caught up in the joy of deduction and it's clear this arena is where he belongs. Friendship with Kazuma Asogi ended, Herlock Sholmes is now Ryunosuke's best friend.
