Topic | It feels like we're on a collision course for a Trump win |

Democratic responses seem eerily similar to 2016 where no positive case is made for the Democratic candidate and the entire focus is on how bad Trump is. We've ended up not talking about the positives and shouting down any discussion of the negatives. People's only response seems to be browbeating the left and voters that call attention to these issues. That has a cap though. The fear based argument only works on people who view the world accurately, and many many Americans don't due to not paying attention to politics or paying attention to the wrong things. The conspiracy theorists, Christian nationalists, racists, habitual Republican voters etc are automatically enough to get Trump 9/10ths of the way to victory. It also doesn't account for the reality that people need to vote FOR something or at least feel their vote is not disgusting. You can insult people for that all you want, call them naive, stupid, whatever, but that's not going to help Biden win. With inflation, interest rates, the war in Gaza, Biden's age, and lack of positive case being made, we're clearly falling into the gap of not enough enthusiasm FOR Biden to counter the right wing bloc. And I'm terrified. It's going to be a disaster for the working class, every vulnerable group here and abroad. I'll probably get fired from my job. I don't want this to happen, but it seems like it will at this point. --- I gotta be righteous, I gotta be me, I gotta be conscious, I gotta be free, I gotta be able, I gotta attack, I gotta be stable, I gotta be black. ...
