Even if you don't like Triple Triad, Tetra Master, Chocobo Hot & Cold,... there are ways to cheese it. Most of FFX's minigames rely on pixel perfect timing and/or a lot of luck. Think I never managed to do the chocobo racing thing and the 100 lightning dodges and not for a lack of trying. Chocobo racing definitely has a bit of luck to it. Gotta get lucky on bird patterns. Lightning strikes can be forced. In particular there's a crater that will force a strike every time you walk out of it. It's relatively easy to get a rhythm down.
