No actually, you being a bad person is a completely legitimate counterpoint to "every adult I knew growing up hit me and I turned out fine!" You're judging my entire character based on a practice that is legally and morally justified that you happen to disagree with. I happen to believe not spanking your children when they act out is the wrong approach.
