No, that's the thing... the average person thinks that ridiculous lawsuits can win easily, so the show plays into that.

Meanwhile, in reality, this had about a hundred witnesses that would attest that the "victim" initiated the fight (someone politely trying to escort a trespasser out does not constitute a fight), and Ron plus a load of witnesses were major local civic and business leaders.

The lawsuit might drag on longer than it should, so the cost of avoiding that by a small settlement might be smarter, but Ron would win pretty handily.
