My parents were decidedly not racist.

But I learned something about racial tensions in town that I did not know, just last week.
My Mom befriended an African American in grade school. But they had to keep their, familiarity under wraps.

I always knew who my parents were, but I didn't realize that it was just still that bad in the early 60's.

Long story short, I connected to someone who knew her in grade school, and he opened up to me about how it was, hand how she was.

My, Mom was OG Civil Rights Movement.

I thought about making a topic about what I was sent, because, It's really is kinda wholesome.

Your mum was awesome.

My parents thankfully are very liberal, hell on my dads best friends in school in the late 50s/early 60s was black.
