Reminds me of how it always used to blow people's minds that the lead singer of The Offspring had a Masters degree (in Molecular Biology). He's actually upgraded it to a PhD since then. His thesis was "Discovery of mature microRNA sequences within the protein-coding regions of global HIV-1 genomes: predictions of novel mechanisms for viral infection and pathogenicity".
