It was easier to vote yes but it was mostly
- people were sick of Trump
- people were sick of Trump specifically because of what he had done in 2020, with how badly he had bungled Covid and also his disgusting response to the George Floyd protests (probably not as much of a factor as Covid, but definitely some of his worst PR in a year he was already filled with bad PR).
- also because of Covid and the massive derailing that had towards the entertainment industry (one of the main deflections away from politics - there was hardly any escapism), a lot more people had their eyes on politics than normal. so a lot more people were aware of the bad stuff mentioned above than they would be normally.
