It's not like the old days when a new console meant new experiences you could only get if you bought it. A new console now is just a hardware refresh. More power. The PS5 is just a PS4 with higher specs. Xbox Series are just more powerful Xbox Ones. I'm sure most early PS6 / NextBox games will run just fine on PS5 / Series X. You might wonder "well then why even buy one?" but again, you're thinking like the old days. New consoles aren't about new experiences. They are about higher resolutions and better framerates. Shinier graphics. Playing new games at their best. In this respect, console gaming is more similar to PC gaming than ever. We don't label a PC game with a generation. It'd just a PC game.
