Not in the foreseeable future. Nothing to do with technology. Earth passes Mars once every 2 years, at its closest it is 35 million miles away. It would take like 9 months to get there, you would be on Mars mandatory around 5-6 months waiting for a proper time to leave for the 9 month return trip catch earth as it passes the next time around.

Yeah, 9 months each way. You have a choice of landing on Mars and then leaving immediately, within a couple of hours, or waiting it out like you said.

But it's no big deal. People routinely spend months on the ISS.
