Which is a weird choice given that the first one was an unironically good film, but hey. This just seems extremely cynically retooled and pushed out the door by the studio. It is a shame because theres done really talented people involved.
Also it turns out that not only is the researching spiders in the Amazon line not in the film, it was never even a line, they literally spliced it together for the trailer from different bits of dialogue across the film.
