IDK like am I crazy to think they are stepping into a minefield with a 1963 date? It's the most politically charged post-WWII decade of the 20th century. The magazine Thing is holding is the issue one month after the Kennedy assassination in November. And the decade is fetishized by MAGA as when America was "great" and what we must return to.

They have to address some of that or it will feel weird and disappointing.

The MCU has gotten political before.

This is the period the most recent Indiana Jones movie was set in. That film addressed the contributions of Black soldiers in World War II. There was a little bit of commentary as well in that the veteran in question was working as a busser. That's hardly the way that a nation's heroes should be treated.

Other than that, the only other Black person in the movie was a villain who was killed mid-film by the Nazis that she collaborated with. That felt weirdly out of place. I think Fantastic Four will do a little bit better, but who knows?

They might do commentary. They might play things safe.
