100% of the time all staff on site get a meal. We plan extra food into our cooking to feed on site chefs, servers, DJs, photographers, wedding planners, and anyone else who might be on site that day. On the extremely rare occasion that the couple in question do not want to feed staff we bite the bullet and eat the cost to feed staff regardless. Worst case scenario it costs us like $100 to build some good will with everyone working that day. This was an insane failure on the couple's behalf. I understand not every company is as generous as we are but you absolutely should feed your staff. They're busting their asses to make your perfect day perfect and someone falling out at hour 5 of your reception because they didn't get to stop and eat is just stupid. If your budget is that tight you shouldn't be having a reception at all. --- If it was about babies we'd have universal maternal care. There would be no charge no matter how complex the delivery.
