Let's say this hypothetical job is $15/hour, at 40 hours per week. That's $600 a week you're getting paid, pre-tax, if you work the exact 40.

Taking a 20% pay cut reduces that to $12/hour. Working 50% less is 20 hours per week. That changes you to only making $240 pre-tax.


No that's not what I was trying to ask.

In this scenario you would earn $480 in a week working 20 hours.
