Customers and employers can both be wrong. Why can't you guys just follow societal norms and fight to change them in the meantime?

Normally I don't even bother starting to read 150+ post topics, but this is quite an interesting one.

I have a simple solution: If your employer doesn't pay you enough to live, find another job.

If your employer starts raising their prices to 'be able' to pay a living wage, then the customers should en masse not go back to that establishment, forcing the owner to lower their prices making less profit or shut down entirely.

Problem with this is people will need to start taking responsibility for their own lives instead of making exuses so they can point to others.

That said, the country I live in doesn't have any % based system. If I eat in a restaurant and the service is good, the waitress gets 10 euros, if not, she gets nothing.

Same with food delivery. If they charge delivery costs, no tip. If they don't and the food is on time 2-5 euros depending on what I have lying around in change. Be more than 5 minutes late, no tip
