The problem is that The Boys isn't really saying anything. It's not doing anything with it's premise. "Wouldn't it suck if superheroes were assholes, and capitalism got its claws in them?" Yeah, it would... and...?

I have to strongly disagree with this. The Boys says a lot about celebrity worship and just celebrity culture in general, and how it not only brings out the worst in people, but also makes society worse by having a group of powerful people who have the ability to manipulate public opinion and avoid accountability for their actions. The topic of toxic masculinity and the amoral nature of capitalism are also big topics in The Boys, as well as other issues like racism, emotional trauma, political radicalization, and the privitization of things like the military.

I'm not quite sure what more you would want it to say.
