Topici thought the AoT ending was fine, did the anime change it up?

Yeah, I was also a little confused. It's not the peak of the show but it was solid enough. Looking at the comments on the subreddit, it seems like they changed two things in subtle ways that make a lot of difference.

First they tightened up Armin and Eren's conversation. In the manga, he apparently says, "Eren, thank you. You became a mass murderer for our sake. I promise I won't let this massive mistake you're making go to waste."

Turns out thanking someone for killing 80% of all life on earth isn't the best way to go. Apparently Armin's reactions and things also didn't really fit as well as it should have and/or the fact that it's a few seconds in an anime rather than one panel in a manga just works better.

The other difference was indeed the credits scene. In the manga, it seems there was no big time skip. When Paradis is destroyed, it just looks like it's not very far off in the future which makes it seem like the world is retaliating against them for the Rumbling. That would massively undercut the entire ending. Having it be in a more futuristic city does make that work a lot better if that's the case
If I remember right, the manga showed the passage of time and paradis building up over time THEN the world retaliated.
