Aw man, that shit was awesome. Loved the direction they took with it, loved the characters and overall story, it was good shit.

Clive's awesome, he honestly might be my favorite FF protagonist. He's got such a good arc, with moments that genuinely punch you in the gut at times seeing the shit this poor dude had to go through.

Like, shit, this guy watched his younger brother die TWICE (I know the first time he wasn't really dead, but Clive didn't know that for like, over a decade), his own mom betrayed him and got his dad and pretty much everyone he knew and cared about killed, was in slavery for years, thought he killed his brother, watched the man who freed him and became his mentor die...

And this dude just went all in and became this bandit paragon of justice, and ended up killing a god.

Also I know "party members" is kinda loose in this game, but if you count anyone that fights alongside Clive, this game's party cast is pretty fucking great. Cid, Jill, Gav, Byron, Joshua, Dion. Mother fucking Torgal. All of them were genuinely interesting and unique character wise.

I think my only issues with the game are, as I know a lot of people have said, some of the gameplay and quest mechanics get a bit repetitive after a while. I missed a couple of early on quests before Cid died, but I think I did every single other one after the time skip, and it started to drag a bit by the end. That said though, the side quests story wise were all mostly pretty fun, had some interesting character development and world building. I wasn't expecting that Crimson Caravan lady's brother to die in that late game quest, god damn. I think that death somehow shocked me more than any other death in the game, I guess mostly because his death is technically optional. I just went to knock out a couple side-quests and suddenly this poor dude's getting zombified.

I did enjoy the Hunt Board more than I thought I would; ended up doing all of them.

Had a lot of fun with the game overall. The boss fights were all mostly pretty solid, Titan's second form def being my favorite though. And that fucking soundtrack, god damn it's so good. Only FF game that's hooked me enough to beat since X, although I do kinda wanna circle back and give 12 another shot, I only got a handful of hours into it.
