Your complaint was that the family may be profiting by giving permission, which is absolutely the same thing.

Should the family of a dead author no longer have the right to give permission for a film adaptation? Or for their characters to be used in another person's writing (as has happened with Ian Fleming and Agatha Christie)?

The voice over artist is giving a performance. When they die, the options are to scrap the character altogether, remove his work and re-cast, have someone else do an impersonation, or have AI do an impersonation. Why is using AI (with permission) the 'disrespectful' option?

When actors died mid-film in pre-AI days, they used stand-ins and editing to cover for it. Was that wrong?
