I knew a guy dat had prison experience, and he said rape is not nearly as common as media makes it out to be. I know a few as well, one of which has spent time in both US and Australian prisons. Hes my primary source of information about rape/murder frequency and the superior quality of Australian prisons compared to US ones. Prison shankings usually happen to either people who were in the news or over drug debts. If youre some small time nobody going in there for a year or two (meaning you wont even go to a long term prison where the murderers tend to be), and you know how to behave, youre not going to get beaten or stabbed. People in short term prisons know theyre coming up for parole, and tend not to want to fuck that up. --- "The US is not a single country.
