9. Hell House LLC (Tubi & a bunch of other places)

Alright, there's a new Hell House LLC movie coming out so I figured I should just bang out this trilogy before I watch it. I also watched the Director's Cut because I wanted the full experience I guess.

So Hell House LLC is about a haunted house attraction in a hotel that has something terrible happen one night with over a dozen deaths as a result. And some folks are making a documentary out of it and talking to the lone surviving member of the group who created the attraction.

I mean, what can I say here? You obviously know what you're getting here. A found footage with some talking heads with spooky BS happening every so often with action thrown in. It doesn't ever get particularly scary, honestly.

What praise I can give it is that when they reveal what happens during the accident that night, it's particularly well done and surprising. I do remember precisely what happened, so it must have stuck with me in a good way. I also think that from that point onward, the movie does pretty well wrapping up the film. I actually kind of enjoy the last stretch here, with the little twist they threw in.

The problem is you need to do the found footage movie thing where a very long amount of the movie is spent seeing buddies talking and having personal drama before the shit goes down. Which I'm kind of over with for the most part.

It feels a little bit better than a lot of found footage movies on a shoestring budget like this, but you have to be in the right mood to watch it. I understand this series goes downhill from here, so I don't look forward to the rest.
