It's been said how terrible the ending of WW84 is, which it is, but this also bothers me a lot.
When Diana makes her wish to get Steve back, he doesn't just poof into existence, he takes over the body of an innocent man. Just some guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time apparently, that only Diana can tell is Steve and not this other dude. And they proceed to take this guy's body across the globe, getting him nearly killed several times, and I can't remember anyone at any point caring about putting an innocent life in danger. I guess because Diana was okay with effectively killing someone to get Steve back? And then at the end when everyone has given up their wish the guy gets his body back and he just stumbles out of an alley or something I don't remember exactly, and she gives him some smile like 'Haha bro you just had some crazy adventure!'
That's insane.
This, among other things, is what makes me think the script got torn apart and put back together many, many times. Because so much of the movie has ideas that end up not making much sense in totality, and has very strange conclusions and story beats put into them.
It's just a very confusing movie.
