Do you guys all realize that people in this country, even today, routinely receive severe burns from coffee from various retailers?

This isn't just a McD thing. Coffee is dangerous.

Most coffee is brewed at near boiling or boiling temperatures and then served to the customer above temperatures that would potentially cause burns. Basically every major coffee retailer does this. Kuerig does this. If you've ordered coffee, you would most likely go to the hospital if you immediately poured it on your groin.

When is McDonald's gonna start learning the lesson that they shouldn't be serving food that can disfigure people?

This would shut down the coffee industry.

In terms of this case: McD has a requirement to secure the coffee. This person should get compensation if the lid wasn't properly secured.
