A dying queen makes the king promise that he will never remarry unless he can find a woman to match her beauty ('cause she's literally that vain). The king agrees, then realizes that the only woman in the kingdom as beautiful as the queen is their daughter, the princess. The princess then wears an ugly donkey skin as a disguise to try and escape. There are multiple endings to the story. In one, the princess escapes and marries a prince while the king finds a beautiful widow. In another, the king catches up to his daughter, they marry, and they live happily ever after despite her initial reservations about incest. Fairy tales are fun like that. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
