I saw one article about the Direct saying that they don't think it's likely until after this holiday season, which I think makes sense. Announce a successor now (especially a backwards compatible one), and you're going to get people who were considering buying a Switch for Christmas holding out for the new system instead, as well as possibly missing out on some game sales. Announcing it early next year for a holiday 2024 release would likely be the best approach. --- This is my signature.
