I understand very little of what you just said. I didn't word it the best. The shorts are elastic, not tied with a string or anything like that. In order to help the fighter breathe better you often see in boxing the cornerman will hook his hands inside the shorts and pull them out thus allowing a fighter to catch his breathe easier.
