Torgo 08/24/23 10:01:50 AM #7:	A lot of the modern fantasy genre tropes and lore are many times removed and recycled out of old European folklore when not directly ripping off Tolkien or Lovecraft - putting aside that Lovecraft apparently was quite racist... Some of these old bits of lore and legend has racism, misogyny, bigotry associated with them at some point. I don't think a lot of the times people drawing on these old influences even knew about these associations, and the modern incarnations are so removed in style and intent it doesn't really matter. --- If what you believe is truthful and just, you shouldn't have to posture as someone or something else. <cite>Torgo posted [p:975632956] in Mary Sue a...
