(Ivan is the third party member in the first game. You meet him in Vault, which is usually the first town you visit after leaving Vale. His unusual ability to read minds is brought up as a point of importance in his introduction.

Ivan was adopted by Hammet, who is the founder of Kalay, and his wife Layana. Unlike Sheba, Ivans past eventually has some light shined on it after the reunion in The Lost Age. He has a sister, Hama.

While not seen in Dark Dawn, Ivan is mentioned a few times. He is the father of Karis, although its unknown who he married. He also invented the soarwing. Tyrell breaking said soarwing starts the plot of Dark Dawn.

With this elimination, a third of the cast remains. Funnily enough, this means that both Wind Adepts from Dark Dawn have outlasted those from the GBA games.)
