My utopia would be a communist society that actually works the way it's supposed to on paper. Communism -- in theory -- is the ideal form of government. As we all know, in practice, it's absolutely atrocious.

But the society we have instead, capitalist, is a perpetual struggle to fight consolidation of power, corporate interests, decisions being made with only short-term gain in mind, a wanton disregard for others...it's completely driven by extrinsic motivation, which is what's lacking in communism, and less vulnerable to being torpedoed by human nature, but it's still heavily, heavily flawed.

We discover a way to drastically increase human lifespan within the next 30 years

There are already people who think we won't die.

It's gonna happen, but it's a matter of when, how, and if it will be commercially viable. I'm not expecting it to be something that will be timely enough to affect people in my generation, but maybe Gen Z.
