(Garet is the playable Fire Adept in the first game. He is one of Isaacs closest friends from childhood (the other being Jenna), and makes appearances across all three games as a result.

He is your first ever obtainable party member, joining at the very beginning of the prologue that takes place three years before the remainder of the games plot.

Garet is sort of a twist or deconstruction on the usual comic relief archetype a lot of RPGs have. He, Isaac, and the rest of Vales population have been sheltered away from the outside world their whole lives. So naturally, when Isaac and Garet venture out for the first time in order to prevent the unleashing of Alchemy, they have a lot to learn about Weyard. A funny gag early on is about how Garet has never seen the ocean. When he, Isaac, Jenna, and Kraden reach the elemental stars chamber within Sol Sanctum, Garet believes the dark abyss below them to be the ocean, but Kraden corrects him. This comes up again way later, when Garet actually gets to see the ocean. Naturally, hes ecstatic.

Garet puts all his trust into Isaac and believes Isaac should be the one making the important decisions, hence why Isaac is the team leader and not Garet. You do briefly control Garet a few instances in the first game, however.

Garet is also playable in The Lost Age, after the reunion that occurs after Felixs party completes Jupiter Lighthouse.

Garet is also seen at the beginning of Dark Dawn. He lives with Isaac and their children at the Lookout Cabin situated on Goma Plateau. It is unknown who Garet married, although scrapped dialogue not seen in the final game says she passed long ago. His son, Tyrell, is a troublemaker, and hes vastly disappointed in his behavior. He and Isaac are briefly part of Matthews party while at Tanglewood, although you dont get to control them. After Matthews party leaves the Goma Plateau to go on a journey, Isaac and Garet arent seen again.

As of Dark Dawn, Garet has the following Djinn on hand: Spark, Shine, Torch, Flash, Kindle, Corona.

Garet has a massive family, consisting of an older sister, a younger brother, parents, and grandparents. His grandfather is the mayor of Vale.

One final note of interest is that in the GBA games, Garet can use Move, a Utility Psynergy usually only known by Earth Adepts.)
