Here's the problem: if Cena wins, that means the end of CM Punk as WWE Champion, and possibly for a while, too.
They've already shown very little trust in him, as his storyline has been relegated to the third most important on his own show. Every show overrun either featured Rock/Cena or HHH/Taker for the past month+. If Cena loses, Punk gets more time to try and impress upon the fans and the WWE that he can legitimately carry the company ala Cena. If Cena wins, he's going to win the title at the next PPV, and he's probably going to hold it for a while. No way are they going to go "Well, Cena went over The Rock, let's have him feud with Jack Swagger now." And you can bet your ass that once Punk loses the belt, Bryan is not long after assuming he doesn't lose tonight.
I'd rather not return to the status quo.
