They actually made a military version, the OA-1K Sky Warden. It has engine and cockpit armor, a bulletproof windscreen, self-sealing fuel tanks, and can carry 9,000 pounds of armaments on 10 hardpoints, including the APKWS rocket, GBU-12 laser-guided bomb, and Hellfire and Griffin missiles.
