The problem with Rock winning is simply that it makes the WWE look awful, story-wise. You can have the guy who is both the best (or at least right on par with the best) and acknowledged as the hardest worker in the company spend the last decade of his life dedicated to being as good as he possibly can at being an in-ring competitor...be unable to beat a guy who spent 7 years not caring about wrestling at all and has only really had it above "afterthought" on his list of priorities for the past six weeks or so. It just says "everyone in the WWE is a talentless idiot, you don't need to actually be a wrestler or put any real effort into wrestling to be better than their best guy".
