I'm not going to judge you for learning about LLMs in 2023, but they are not a new concept, they aren't a fad, and have nothing to do with whatever the hell a "tech bro" is. There are real world uses for this technology, but they're likely not for you. For example deepl is a translation service that has existed for a few years now that is built on AI. Google bard also recently integrated mulit-language support into its model. The fact that you had to dive that deep to defend it only confirms even more that it's just the yearly grift to me. LLMs are already starting to fade as it is, not to mention the unbelievable problems they have with getting basic facts right, data exfiltration, and cheating in academics.
