it's hard to explain how absolutely insane this is to hear coming from him though, our entire life he has always just been an absolute curmudgeon about the very concept of romantic relationships, opining how his marriage was the biggest mistake he ever made, saying that people doing things for their spouse is pathetic, policing gbro & gsis's phone use as grown ass adults and mocking them for not being able to keep their attention away (to an incredibly unreasonable degree)... and now we're just supposed to not be shocked at this sudden development for him?

and like yeah sorry dad getting a tattoo for your first relationship in 25 years after 2 months of not even really dating because she's a grown ass mother with a life and a husband of her own is just weird. you can't just do something absolutely bonkers insane and expect people not to be shocked
