overclassification is a huge issue because there is way too much shit to keep track of, weakening the entire classification audit situation severely (if politicians even care because lol they're auditing themselves basically with the power they have). going by the NPR's numbers, there's probably at least four times as many classified documents as US citizens at the rate they're classifying documents

I have seen people talk about that, but even if most of them fall under the banner of irrelevant not all of them do. They're saying nuclear and defense secrets were there, those were justified in their classification. Apparently people forgetting they have documents is actually super common, but no one really cares as long as they do the right thing when they discover it. You only get charged when you intentionally mishandle them, which Trump very clearly did.
