I make this bet all the time. You realistically need 3 energy to add 4 power, sometimes 2 energy works.

So if you know they're playing 3+ energy elsewhere, then it's a fair bet that they can't make 4.

Of course, Doom makes sense in every deck too, so you have to win the other lanes by 5+ for it to make sense.

This is why I love Red Skull despite the nerfs. On 6 you can play him to get 10ish power in one lane, AND still drop an Iceman or something to bolster one of your lanes from +3/4 to +5/6. That makes the lane require 4 or even 5 energy to win.

In the situation I described the other two lanes were not a factor. One was full and one was Luke's bar I was winning by 10.

So my opponent stayed in the game on turn 6 thinking I couldn't put 4 power into 1 lane.
