Nothing about that movie being great has anything to do with the MCU as a whole, and everything to do with Gunn. In fact, the parts where it's forced to deal with the overall MCU are probably the worst parts of the movie. Now, Gunn as the reins at DC and there's not all that much that looks interesting in the Marvel pipeline at all.
