Especially if you go to the major cities around the world, almost all of them are becoming more and more homogeneous with the same building architecture, shopping malls, beaches and whatnot... Of course you can go off the beaten track to find more soulful destinations but the trouble and expenses aint worth it to me. Food-wise, sure it can be different but I'm no foodie and I pretty much hated 90% of the new food I tasted so whatever. If you do more than scratch the surface of the place, you'll see the differences. Of course if you just go to the big shopping streets and tourist spots all you'll see is the same.
