If you love your work, is it really work? If you don't love your work, is it worth doing just to live, especially if it takes up a majority of your waking hours?

Wealth can help make you happy, but you need time to be happy, time and money is the best, but you can still be happy with much less money (some money is needed to reach a baseline of happiness though in most situations).

There can be joy in having nothing, no possessions, no responsibility and the freedom to go and do what you want, but is such a life rewarding, especially after you have done it for awhile? Most people need some kind of goal to be truly happy, especially long term. Almost anything that you do, if you do it enough, becomes boring and stops being enough to keep you happy.

So play video games if it makes you happy, find a way to do the things you enjoy, and to have things you look forward to doing. Work is important, but I contend it is more important to enjoy what you do, to look forward to going to work, then it is to make tons of money but hate the time you spend making it. If you can find something you love to do, and make money from it, then you are really blessed. That should really be the goal of most people, to find something they can do that they love that also supports a lifestyle they are happy with.
