Match 3 battle of the awkward loops. My poll vote was Forgotten Capital but Shutoko is peak Koshiro, combining piano loops+sound design+dance synths+modern rock into an incredible dungeon theme. I only found it this year and it still blows my mind how it manages to keep building and building! 1:11 in particular is a moment that sends shivers down my spine and expands the virtual space in my headphones. By the finale, a song that started like an underground cave has swelled to the scale of an obsidian tower above the clouds.
