I wanted so badly to hate it because of how unnecessary it is, but it was so great

It did a fair few things better than the original. A few misses and head-scratching decisions, and it never quite recaptured the satisfaction from the original of blasting somebody point blank with a shotgun but I was really happy with this overall.

That said, more cause of age, I can't see myself replaying this enough to unlock everything and get that Platinum. We'll see.

Notes about the playthrough:

-I missed one of the locked treasures during the Ashley section and I nearly restarted the whole game. Livid.
-I killed everything I could see. Almost became an ocd thing. Also it was so satisfying.
-that includes Verdugo, killed that guy dead. My pride wouldn't allow me to run
-the shooting ranges seem pretty hard. I got a few s ranks but not all
-I felt a little emotional on the first few notes of the credits, just cause the nostalgia really hit them for some reason
-Saddler being nonexistent for most of the game was a weird choice
-No U3, man I liked that fight
-Krauser fight was a bit of a downgrade. In fact the entire Island section was the weakest of the game. Felt like it lost quite a lot with the removal of the crane game, truck section, u3, and Krauser QTE fight
-Did one of the files indicate that Saddler's left hand was u3? In fact the increase in files/backstory generally was much appreciated.
