And to that point:

What do you expect to happen when you see the film? The earth to swallow you whole? The sun to blink out of existence? It's a few hours of mediocre cinema and if it gives you any profound emotional trauma, find a way to process it or get some help in doing so.

I'd say "just don't see it", but clearly that's not an option. You're going to see it eventually, as you're still a Star Wars fan, as you claim. You could put aside these petty dramatics and rip that old band-aid.
