Baccano! is probably the best shot we have at winning again.
It's pretty safe to say at this point that we'll never get a sequel anime series.
I mean it doesn't have to be Brain's Base that does it, the DRRR sequels were by Shuka, but as things stand, the plot we got in those eps was good enough.

On Board 8 specifically, it's essentially rated as this god tier series above even MAL Chart topper FMA Brotherhood or internet darling Cowboy Bebop.
It might have become a little overrated, but even so, it's still a very solid 1 cour series.

Baccano also shows the strengths and weaknesses of Europe's Manga and anime market.
The BD collection is available for under 15 which is an outrageously good deal when you know how much anime BDs can cost in some markets.
On the flip side their focus on manga means they didn't go hard on Light Novels. In that area, they're behind the ball vs English localisations as the ebooks are only available in English.

Reading online, it seems a lot of this might be due to how the local publishers messed up with the Haruhi Vol 1 translation.
