Will be backwards compatible with Switch games, certain games like TotK/Splatoon 3/next Mario/Pokemon will get free graphics and performance patches on launch. I've actually been hearing these rumors of a backwards compatible successor for like 6 or 7 months. I think if it was coming within the next year, Nintendo's announcement window is coming to a close pretty soon, so we'll see what happens.
