But u can't destroy it with cards effects. Did they have megamorph or something?

It can't be destroyed or targeted by card effects, which is nice protection because a lot of removal cards do at least one of those. But there are still plenty of ways to banish it (such as with Kozmojo), return it to the hand (such as with Storming Mirror Force), send it to the GY (such as with Ningirsu the World Chalice Warrior), tribute it (such as for Lava Golem or any Kaiju), or negate its effect (such as with Forbidden Droplet) that get around that protection. Or, of course, you could also destroy it in battle, and the easiest and most generic option to do that is Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax.
