Either I had terrible luck, or a disproportionate number of the ones I dealt with were either too cheap to live up to their side of the contract, or entitled to the point of putting themselves at serious risk of legal action.

I managed to avoid dealing with any of the aggressive busybodies or sleazy scumbags.

On one occasion, our landlord was fine until he got screwed over by workers he brought in to fix some longstanding electrical issues. Then he started taking his frustrations out in his tenants, and turned into a real prick.

I can't help but wonder how differently things might have gone if those workers had actually done what they were paid to do.
