"Aged well" doesn't really have a clear cut definition. I agree with a lot of Lopen's points.

People seem to get borderline offended when it's suggested that RE4 has not aged well and it's a matter of perspective maybe, but I think the best definition is if if you try to imagine the exact same game coming out today except for updated graphics, would people enjoy it to the same extend? I don't think RE4 would, for example, the gameplay works as well as it ever did, but it's not very modern and I think it'd throw a lot of people off if they played it for the first time today. I haven't played the remake yet, but I supported releasing it again to get newer audiences into it using more modern gameplay.

Most early shooters or 3d games in general has by this definition aged pretty bad because it has evolved so much since then that it can be hard going back to.
