Aging doesn't mean there weren't problems to begin with. It never means that. Games aren't people they don't develop problems as they become older.

It means that they weren't as glaring at the time because people were excited about some other thing and aren't as much, or the things wrong with it become more obvious with an increasing amount of superior examples out there etc etc.
Sure but my argument here is explicitly "a lot of these problems were just as glaring at the time".
